Updraft trying to get going near Lathrop MO or just sw of Cameron. |

Same updraft somewhere near Cameron MO. |

There was one storm to the nw of this one heading ne which looked better on radar. I kept hoping for this one as I figured anything good would need to turn more east along the warmfront in this area. This storm kept showing signs that it wanted to build right on the warmfront and go more east. |

Well at Hamilton it had beefed up some and decided it wanted to go ne. An updraft south of this one wasn't doing too well yet so I was forced to follow this one ne. I didn't care for the road options as I went ne as I'd be forced to more or less abandon east options if the storm changed its mind. So not far out of Hamilton I turn around and head back to highway 36 hoping it would either turn or the storm to the south would take off. As I went back south into town I was now right behind the storm and noted some blowing dirt. I wondered if this was just cold front related or more of an rfd thing. It didn't feel terribly cold and was rather strong. Not far into heading back east on 36 I see a bomb of an updraft taking off with this storm. It was further southwest down the storm's base. It was now turning into a strong supercell and about to head straight east down 36 towards Chillicothe. This would be perfect! I tried to grab my cam quickly and get it turned on to snap the amazing updraft but it was quickly blocked out as I went east and these low clouds moved in above me. |

I'm not sure exactly where I was right here but it is somewhere between Hamilton and Chillicothe. The storm base was now getting quite round. |

I'm now driving on the ne jog just west of Chillicothe. |
The forward flank was very clear in appearance as it was all hail. Baseball hail is now starting to be reported with the warning. |
The storm to the south was looking better and better visually but still not great on radar. |
I almost bought a new still camera on my way down but thought I could order it online instead. I didn't think I'd need it that bad this day as I wasn't figuring on much structure in MO. I was wrong. |
I'm just outside of Chillicothe on the east side of town. I sit here for the rest of this storm hoping to sample some of the large hail. |
A tornado is actually being reported around this time. The wrapped area breifly became obscured by precip. I never saw any tornadoes from my angle. |

Here comes the hail. I was hoping for huge hail and only saw some 1-2 inch diameter stones. |
It was mildly entertaining watching them bounce in the field. |

The southern storm was now growing larger but looking to have issues with other convection near it. It was also juse se of this one and surely going to kill it. Here is the view of the Chillicothe storm as I begin the long drive back home. I noticed some fires when I got into the anvil precip of this storm. I also noticed the majority of the lightning with this storm was waaay out in the anvil. The storm was barely moving when it was on Chillicothe and I'm wondering if these fires were all from lightning in the area. As it got darker and I neared Princeton I encounted lots and lots of deer. In a 5 minute span I saw 4 occasions of deer crossing the highway. There's some rather dangerous driving to be done in this area at night. The roads are wild enough without the added wildlife.
