April 27, 2006 Playing in the Rain

So, my 2 year old canon is having problems with the sensor(assuming). I have a cool chase day coming up on the 24th so I next day air a new digital rebel from BH. Well I knew since BH had been closed they wouldn't ship it the day I ordered it. So, I chase with my old camera. The pattern is taking a big crapola as I get back and recieve my new Canon Digital Rebel XT(350D). Good thing I next day aired it! Taking a wild guess after looking at the extended models I figure I may have a good 3 weeks before there is anything worthwhile to chase. :(

I took the new camera with me to my parents while I made my daily dog visit. It is raining out and I get the bright idea I should take the dogs and the new camera out in it and mess around. What better way to break in a brand new camera than in rain!

I couldn't track down an umbrella but that wasn't going to stop me. I grabbed a small towel and put on my head/hat. I wasn't sure what good it would do but just kind of went with it. I soon figured I could have it hang out a bit further on the bill of my hat and off to the sides of that. If I kept the camera right to my nose the cap and towel would keep it mostly dry. So I either had it there or up under my shirt. While doing all of this and getting very wet my new long-sleeved, red Nebraska shirt was bleeding red through to my t-shirt I had on below. NICE. Anyway...

Jon here looking extremely unenthused. He was like, what the hell is your problem.

Roy thinking much the same though slightly more into it...not much.

I asked, "Isn't this fun?" Roy replied, ".....is that a rabbit........"

"I'm too wet to chase a rabbit."

This was funny. He stops walking, closes his eyes and just stands there for a bit. He really really doesn't care for the rain.

I could tell he was not happy with me because of how long it took him to look towards me. I tried and tried to get him to look and he refused to even hear me. Then when he finally turns to look he still doesn't acknowledge me. I think he's looking back at the house.

He not only doesn't care for the rain, but doesn't care for mud either.

More unhappy standing around.

I told Roy he was a little wet and what does he do? He sticks his tongue out at me. I think he might have actually enjoyed this little trip in the rain.

Jon looks a lot happier in this shot than he actually did at the time. He was doing more of that stand in one place and look unhappy stuff.

Well we were all quite wet now and my new camera was getting a bit wet for my liking, so we headed back to dry off.
